Robert Pearlman | With the renaming of NASA's Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. comes a new patch for the Armstrong Flight Research Center: The design is the result of an employee art contest. Mark Pestana, a retired research pilot and the artist behind the STS-123 crew patch came up with this, the winning design, which is now the official logo (albeit only for internal use) for NASA Armstrong. (The NASA Armstrong exchange store had a limited supply of patches available as of Tuesday, May 13, the day of the center's renaming ceremony. The store does not a have a website but takes orders by phone at 661-276-3492.) |
